Owner - Glazer's Distributors

Contractor - MAPP Construction, LLCs

Size - 80,000 sf.

Approx. Cost - $5,700,000.00

Year completed - 2005

Built in St. Rose, a New Orleans suburb, the facility serves as the regional warehouse and distribution center for the state of Louisiana. Several satellite facilities are supplied from here. Phase I was completed is 1998 and provided the necessary capacity to support business volume at the time; however, growth overcame that capacity as new product lines were added. The current addition will provide needed capacity and reorganize existing elements for more efficient operation. A phase 3 is planned for the future.

The land adjacent to the Mississippi River is primarily silt deposit. 70 ft wood piles were driven to solid earth below to support the structure. To reduce slab settlement the site was surcharged for 6 months. The building was raised 6 feet above surrounding land to prevent flooding. The parking was also raised. To date the building has not flooded even though the surrounding area has. It survived hurricane Katrina without any serious damage.
